The Duke Hematologic Malignancies Program is a leading national center for hematologic cancers, combining compassionate medical care with state-of-the-art science to improve outcomes for nearly 1,000 patients with a cancer of the blood who come to the Duke Cancer Institute each year.
Our program takes a holistic approach to address the medical, emotional, and practical needs of our patients. We alleviate stress and pain through healing touch, massage, aromatherapy, counseling, and patient support programs.
We take particular care to address the needs of our elderly patients, whose physiologic processes require a gentler approach to treatment.
For patients who have recurrent cancers, we provide a seamless transition to Duke's internationally renowned adult bone marrow and stem cell transplant team.
